How Blake Matter Studio collects, uses, and protects your data across Nine Men's Morris and every title we ship.

Last updated · July 28, 2026

We build small games and we keep the data side small too. We collect what the game needs to work — nothing more — and we never sell it. This page explains exactly what that means.

Information we collect

  • Account dataIf you sign in with Google, we store your display name, email address, and profile photo so we can identify you in online matches and on leaderboards.
  • Game dataWin and loss records, leaderboard rankings, and match history, used to power your stats and the global leaderboards.
  • Anonymous identifiersIf you play as a guest, Firebase assigns an anonymous ID to manage your session. No personal information is attached to it.
  • Device and usage dataBasic device model, OS version, and crash diagnostics collected through Firebase so we can fix bugs and improve performance.
  • Advertising identifierGoogle AdMob may access your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. See Advertising below for how to opt out.

We collect the minimum needed to run the game and its online features.

How we use your data

  • GameplayTo run online multiplayer matches, matchmaking, and in-match chat.
  • ProgressionTo maintain leaderboards and keep your stats across sessions and devices.
  • AdvertisingTo display ads that keep the game free to play.
  • ReliabilityTo diagnose crashes and improve stability and performance.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond what is described on this page.

Advertising

Our games are free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use your device's advertising identifier to select and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted.

You can limit this at any time from your device settings — on Android, Settings › Privacy › Ads lets you delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation. Doing so does not remove ads; it only makes them less relevant.

Google's use of advertising data is governed by its own policies, which you can review at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Third-party services

  • Firebase (Google)Authentication, cloud database for matches and leaderboards, and crash reporting.
  • Google AdMobAd serving and measurement.
  • Google Play ServicesSign-in and distribution.

We rely on a small number of Google services to operate. Each processes data under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

Storage and security

Your data is stored in Firebase, on Google Cloud infrastructure, and is protected in transit and at rest by Google's encryption. Access is restricted by server-side security rules so that players can only read and write their own records.

Game data is retained for as long as your account exists. Guest sessions hold no personal data and can simply be abandoned.

Your rights and data deletion

You are in control of your data. You can sign out at any time from the in-game Settings screen, which stops any further collection tied to your Google account.

To request deletion of your account and all associated data — profile, stats, leaderboard entries, and match history — email support@blakematter.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Data deletion request". We action these within 30 days and confirm by reply.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or export the data we hold about you. Use the same address and we will help.

Children's privacy

Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our games evolve. Material changes will be reflected here and in the in-game policy screen, with a revised date at the top. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

Questions about your data?

Write to us and a human will reply. We are a three-person studio, so it will be one of us.
